Instructional Design Details
The UNSSC is a course and training provider for all UN Agencies on all topics pertaining to its operations, missions and personal development. The request was to create a course for live training on campus.
As the creator of the course, I added pre-course work and post-course work to ensure the participants were informed in a subtle way of the course agenda and the requirements that they had to pay attention to while at the same time feeling more prepared to engage in the overall course.
I used Gagne’s Nine Events of Instructions to ensure I made the most of the time given for the training. To create the course materials, I used a simple mind-mapping process before I concluded - based on my chosen design model – on the final outline and structure of the course.
To create the course material, I designed everything in Canva Pro and then transferred all onto a Powerpoint Presentation (it was the necessary format to present based on the tech specifications at the college).
For the pre- and post-course work, I designed the workbooks in Canva Pro which I converted into fillable pdfs (Adobe).
Videos were modified for classroom use from YouTube.
